You Don't Pay to Book a Chauffeur With Us and Here's Exactly What Happens When You Do

There's a moment most people have when they find a premium service online for the first time. They're interested, they're close to booking, and then they stop. Not because the price is wrong or the service doesn't suit them. They stop because they don't know what happens next. Does the card get charged right now? Who actually confirms the job? What if the flight lands late?

These are fair questions and they deserve straight answers. So here's the full picture of how booking works at The First Chauffeurs before you click a single button.

There Are Two Ways to Get a Price

Depending on the nature of your trip, you'll either see a confirmed fare on screen and book directly, or you'll send through a quotation request and we'll come back to you with pricing before anything is locked in. Both paths end the same way. A professional driver, a premium vehicle, and nothing unexpected on the day.

How the Online Booking Works

When you open the book online page, you're not filling out a generic enquiry form. The system calculates your fare as you go and shows you everything before you commit to anything.

It runs across four steps.

The first step is choosing your trip type. One way is a single pickup and drop off. Return covers both legs in one booking. Hourly hire is for when you need a vehicle and driver for a set number of hours with flexible stops along the way. That could be a day of corporate meetings across the city, a wedding, a winery run, or any occasion where a fixed route doesn't quite fit.

The second step is where things get specific. You enter your pickup and drop off addresses, the date and time, and how many passengers are travelling. You also enter your suitcase and carry on bag count separately. This isn't just a formality. The system uses those numbers to show you vehicles that actually fit your luggage, not just your headcount. If it's an airport pickup there's a field for your flight number. Enter it. Your driver tracks the actual arrival, not just the scheduled landing time, so if the flight runs early or late the pickup adjusts without you having to call anyone.

The third step is where you choose your vehicle and where the confirmed price appears. Every category shows the fare, the passenger capacity, the bag capacity, and the models that fall under it. The options available are an Executive Sedan for up to three passengers covering vehicles like the Mercedes E Class, BMW 5 Series and Lexus ES, a Luxury Sedan covering the Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8, a Premium SUV including the Audi Q7, BMW X7 and Mercedes GLE, an Electric Car covering the BMW i5, Mercedes EQB, EQS and Tesla Model 3 and Y, a Mini Van with the Mercedes V250 and V300 seating up to seven passengers, a Mini Bus via the Mercedes Sprinter handling up to fourteen passengers with full luggage, and a Best Match option that selects across the fleet based on your group and bag count. If any vehicle shows the word Quote instead of a price, just select it and continue. A personalised fare gets confirmed shortly after.

The fourth and final step is your contact details. First name, email, mobile number and an optional message. That message field is worth using. If there are specific meeting point instructions, child seat ages, oversized luggage, or anything the driver should know before arrival, put it there. On the right side of the screen throughout the entire process a live summary panel has been building with every detail of your trip. By step four you can see the pickup, drop off, date, passengers, luggage, vehicle and total fare all together before you submit anything.

When you press Book Now, no payment is taken. A booking confirmation email goes to the address you entered and we send a formal invoice with a secure Square payment link shortly after. You pay through that link before the trip date.

What the Quotation Path Looks Like

Some trips don't fit a standard point to point booking and they shouldn't have to. Corporate accounts handling multiple transfers, multi stop itineraries, large group logistics and long distance jobs often need pricing confirmed before anything else. That's exactly what the quotation request is for.

You submit your trip details through the request a quote page and we come back with a full price breakdown. If we need to clarify anything before the quote goes out, a quick email sorts it. Once the pricing is accepted the invoice follows with the Square payment link, same as the direct booking path.

The quotation route isn't a slower process. It's simply the right starting point for jobs that need a conversation before a number is put to them.

Why We Don't Take Payment at the Booking Stage

This is a deliberate choice. Taking card details at the moment of booking and charging immediately is the fast option for us but it's not the right one for you. We'd rather confirm the job details are correct, allocate the right vehicle, and issue a proper invoice before any money changes hands. That way you have a clear written record of exactly what was agreed. The Square payment link is secure and the process is straightforward.

After You Submit

The confirmation email arrives immediately with your full booking summary. If anything in it looks wrong or a detail needs changing, that's the time to let us know. Well before the trip is always easier than on the morning of.

For quotation requests the order is simple. We receive the details, send the quote by email, you confirm, and the invoice with payment link follows.

A booking should feel like the start of something organised, not a leap of faith. You see the price before you choose. You choose before you pay. And the driver already knows your flight status before you land.
